Google Chrome V/S DuckDuckGo - THE ENDGAME

We all know we can't live a day without web browsers, so it becomes important to choose the best. Is it speed, security, user-friendliness, or customization options? According to your priorities, the tech space has a variety of options available.

Here's a representation of the market share captured by different products available in the space:
Google: >90%
Microsoft Bing: 2-3%
Yahoo: 1-2%
Baidu, Inc.: 1-2% (Primarily serving the Chinese market)
Yandex: <1% (Predominantly used in Russia)
DuckDuckGo: Around 0.5-1.0%

As far as market share is concerned, the monopoly of Google is clearly depicted and competitors don't even come close.

However, I recently came across this privacy-focused browser called DuckDuckGo, which has some fascinating features.

I was astonished by the fact that DuckDuckGo was born before Chrome. 🙀
DuckDuckGo was founded by Gabriel Weinberg on February 29, 2008, while Google Chrome was first released by Google(Jeffrey Nelson, Sundar Pichai, and their team of Engineers) on September 2, 2008.

DuckPlayer: DuckPlayer is DuckDuckGo's built-in, privacy-focused video player that streams videos directly from websites without hidden trackers. You don't allow cookies, don't get tracked, see personalized info. , no confirmation bias, the same for everyone.

They don't store your data. However, it also means that you don't support creators for their hard work.

-YouTube videos will play in DuckPlayer, and no ads so no revenue for them.

-Integration: Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, Maps, and a dozen more, you can access your info. over this huge suite of platforms, all by Google, so it means productivity, speed and hassle-free import of data.

But it also means that this whole ecosystem has data from every aspect of your life, and that sounds threatening.

-Block creepy #ads
-Block #cookies, pop-ups
-Block #email trackers
-Watch YouTube with fewer distractions & more privacy
-See who’s trying to track you

If the above are your priorities, then I think you should give DuckDuckGo a try!

But if your priorities are:
-Speed
-Better workflow due to seamless integration in the Google Ecosystem
- Varied range of extensions and add-ons for better and personalized UX.

Asking about me? I use both, but which is better, leaving it OPEN-ENDED, to be discussed in the #comments.
